I am a new kindergarten teacher going into my very first year of teaching! I am beyond excited to begin the journey of kindergarten with my students, but want to create the best possible learning space for them. I know that the more organized, clean, and equipped the classroom is, the more I can focus on teaching and learning with my students.
The materials I am requesting will be used on a daily basis to keep the classroom running smoothly and efficiently, while also helping to create a more positive classroom environment. For example, the disinfecting wipes, pencil sharpener, laminator, label maker, etc. helps keep the environment organized and prepped, making it easier for procedures and routines to flow throughout the day. Other items like the pocket inserts, clipboards, bean bags, and packing peanuts (for the bean bags) help promote student choice in that they may choose to sit and work in areas other than their desks. The bean bags also serve as a cozy corner for when students need some space to themselves, a vital area in any kindergarten room where students can easily feel anxious. Lastly, materials such as floor stickers, calendar sets, and math manipulatives (Unifix cubes, counters, shapes) serve to build an inviting and stimulating atmosphere for students. Each item will build a higher quality classroom experience that my students deserve and I hope to make it a reality with your help!
