I have chosen books such as A Long Walk to Water and Touching Spirit Bear. We have single copies of books, but research has shown how important it is for students to interact while reading. For more information on the benefits of collaborative learning, look up data from Dr. John Hattie. Dr. John Hattie's research indicates the effectiveness of collaboration and reciprocal teaching. I want students reading books which will widen their knowledge and make them more empathetic people. Books can change your soul. My goal is to choose books that they can relate to and want to discuss. Their reading will improve and so will their character.
