My students are already missing fun encore classes to improve their reading, so I want to make their time in my classroom comfortable! The plastic chairs that they sit in or the cold floor that they lay on is not an inviting reading space! Students will be too uncomfortable to focus on their assignments, causing them to spend more time off task. This project will provide them with a variety of comfortable spaces where they can work on their independent assignments, reach their reading goals and strengthen their reading stamina. With students comfortable and working around the room, I will be able to focus on helping students build confidence in reading with minimal interruptions.
