Students love technology. They learn how to use new resources and programs quickly. However, due to the growth of our student body the amount of technology resources is limited. Over the past year the amount of time my students spend in a computer lab has been cut in half. To address this issue our school district is starting to convert our standing computer labs to Chromebook labs. Our third to sixth grade classes are also becoming one-to-one classrooms. Each student will have their own Chromebook.
I want my students to have the resources they need to succeed. The headsets we currently use stay in the computer lab. They are used by the entire student body. Often a portion of our computer time is wasted trying to fix, find, or hook-up the lab's headphones. There is no current plan for the school district to supply new headphones.
I want my students to each have a set of these requested Avid On-Ear headphones to go along with their Chromebook. These headphones will help my students focus during personalized activities, assessments, and projects. Headphones with a microphone will help control the volume level in my classroom during certain activities. They will allow my students that need accommodations to complete their work more efficiently and at a higher level of independence. It will also be more sanitary for each student to have their own set of headphones.
Having a classroom set of headphones with a microphone will provide my students with the ability to fully utilize the programs and resources I have in my classroom.
Thank you for your support and generosity!
