My goal with these drawer carts is to store the materials students need on a daily basis right at their work tables, so the process of getting materials out doesn't waste our learning time. The carts will store whiteboards, markers, large paper, scissors, color-coded cards for voting or categorizing, tissue, scrap paper, and folders of student work. My students learn best with a variety of activities and changes to routine in every class. The way I teach, we have several transitions from task to task throughout class. Getting out and putting away the materials for each activity can waste valuable time, and I want every minute focused on learning I can get. With supplies right at their tables, students can get what they need quickly and efficiently.
