Learning happens in many ways, but if a student isn't happy with their learning environment then their focus is not completely there, and therefore their learning is hindered. I have seen first hand how giving students a choice in how they will learn helps them to want to learn more. The number one way to help them is with flexible seating. By giving my students multiple seating options they have the ability to stay focused which leads to working harder and learning more. Each chair and table opens up a new opportunity for my students to stay focused on what they need to do, whether that be when they are working individually, with a partner, or in a small group. Students that need to stretch out will be able to use the portable lap desks to sit around the room and focus on their individual work. Students will be able to come together and collaborate at the small coffee table where they can pull up a pillow, chair, or simply sit on the floor. Their classroom will feel more like their happy place with endless possibilities.
