My students are first and second graders who are identified as struggling readers. Many of my students come from low income, dual working families or single parent homes. They do not have a lot of academic home support.
Therefore, every minute matters with these kiddos. When engaged with rich language, high quality texts, my students are eager to learn and capable of attaining their academic goals.
