My students need multi-sensory tools to help build new pathways of learning. Once we start rebuilding pathways, we start building confidence in reading and writing. These kids are smart, athletic, creative. Many have landed lead roles in musical productions. These kids deserve to have the best and every tool that they can for their learning toolboxes. I am always seeking and researching different methods of instruction for my students. Not every student learns the same way or the same day, but they all can learn. We teach the Power of Yet, you may not have it Yet, but you will get it. We teach our students to have confidence and pride in their selves and their learning. The tools selected include stories about famous people with Dyslexia. Ashley Productions cut out reading markers to help us stay focused on text and only work on highlight text. The affix root cards help students see how words are decoded and encoded by morphemes, starting with the root and then building with suffixes and prefixes.
