Flexible seating allows children to make smart choices about their seat and to work in a way that allows them comfort and movement. We see so many kids getting in trouble across the country because they can’t sit still all day. The flexible seating helps to combat that by using cushions, exercise balls, inflatable disc, etc. that allow more focused movement. In education, we are needing to shift away from the old way and move into better practices. These practices should be flexible and allow for collaboration with peers. All children have different needs and flexible seating is one small way to meet those needs.
I have students use art, reading and writing to interact with different subject matter. Having markers for them makes a huge difference in ensuring that all are able to complete assignments.
