Many of my students are struggling with various issues at home, in school, or with peers. They often come to my office in an agitated, disregulated state. One of the many challenges I face with my students is making them feel welcome, safe, and relaxed in my office.
As a new counselor, my hope is to create a 鈥渮en鈥 office space for my students where they feel at home. I would love to have comfortable seating, access to calming sensory toys, and inspirational decor with natural elements (as I find nature to be one of the most calming atmospheres).
