Many of my junior high school students have their learning opportunities and academic performance negatively impacted because their organizational and study skills are still being developed, Because of this, many of them are unable to keep up with the materials that they are provided with, in class.
Because many of my students don't have basic school supplies and they come from challenging socio-economic circumstances that don’t allow for the provision of many of these items, I would like to provide all of them with a 1-2 inch, durable three-ring binder where they can store classroom materials and keep them organized. I will provide direction and support in the use of these items in order to assist them in the development of these critical organization skills that will enhance their opportunities to learn and be successful in my classroom, as well as others, this academic year and their future academic careers, personal lives, and careers
These binders will be left in the classroom so that the materials will always be available to them when needed during instruction and to complete assignments and assessments. It is my hope that the durable nature of these materials will allow them to be used for several school years to come.
