My students are in need of a new large area rug to create warmth in the classroom. We will use the rug at various times throughout the day. It will be used for story time, small and large group instruction, independent reading, Smart Board activities, socializing and writing with their lap desks and Chromebooks.
The large area rug will allow my students to develop academic skills, social skills and sharing of space when all 30 are together. The rug will also allow them to spread out during many independent activities. It will help with flexible seating so my 30 students do not have to sit on the hard cold linoleum floor.
The most memorable times I have spent on the rug with my students has been when we are getting to know one another on a personal level. At the end of the day we always reflect and discuss "the best part of today".
My first graders and I thank you!
