All of the items I chose, saucer chairs, balance balls, and lap desks, can be stored effectively around the classroom. This will allow students the chance to get moving while they work. The students will have stations around the room each with a different part of the lesson to work on. The flexible seating will keep the lesson interesting as students move around the room.
Providing flexible seating maximizes student attention. While also giving them a choice in their education. They get to choose where they sit, which puts them in the "driver's seat."
Students will also be participating in small book clubs throughout the year. These groups will meet using the flexible seating that they choose.
