Kindergarten is not like it used to be! Our students come to us at 7:15am and we carry on our in-school learning until 2:15pm. There are no naps, limited recess, and gym time seems to be shrinking by the year! My students are 5 and 6 years old. They need to move their little bodies!
If I could get 6 wobble chairs, I would be able to equip each of my tables with a "captain’s chair." Students will take turns using the "captain’s chair" each week and have specific duties as captain. Students will not only obtain a sense of pride and responsibility when it is their week to be in the "captain’s chair", they will also be able to get some extra movement in their day! Keeping students engaged and active is the best way to keep students focused for longer periods of time.
