My students are very inquisitive and would benefit from practical opportunities to apply their math skills. This project includes board games such as the Electronic Bankers Edition of "Monopoly" and "Snap Circuits" which will be used in our Math and STEM centers. This project will help build confidence and alleviate any anxiety as students approach tasks that require critical thinking and analytical skills.
I want to support my students in expanding their knowledge in applying mathematical concepts while encouraging them to pursue careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). Playing Monopoly exposed me to money and how to effectively manage finances at an early age. Other games such as Snap Circuits (which includes 750 STEM projects) and the "24" card game (math operations) will provide them with hands-on experience in constructing projects, reading directions carefully, and exploring how they arrived to their desired outcomes.
