My students are diverse learners looking for new opportunities to read books that capture their imagination and make them eager to continue reading. I want to provide my students with a welcoming and comfy reading corner to enjoy reading in. As a first year teacher I don't have the classroom library that my students deserve to thrive and promote a love for reading. I hope to use non fiction books such as The Name Jar and Martin's Big words The Life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to promote empathy and understanding to diverse backgrounds. I want to use fiction books such as The Magic Tree House and Mystery A to Z books to promote a sense of curiosity and a love of reading.
