Being able to have a carpet for my students to sit upon while in a group setting would be wonderful. Unfortunately, we only have the hard plastic chairs that they sit on at their desks and having them sit on the tile floor is so uncomfortable for the students. I have the students join me as group on the floor in the front of the room to read many picture books. Being able to be gathered together to see the pictures and share ideas with each other allows the students to grow. My students also enjoy movement within a lesson. With a carpet I can offer my students another learning area.
