As a first year teacher and finally getting my own classroom and students, I am hoping to create an inspirational space that is both welcoming and comfortable for ALL my students. When it is a good day, I want it to be fantastic. However, on those days that aren't so great, I want my kids to feel safe and comfortable as well.
Everything in our environment is different because we are all unique, and I plan to create a place that is inclusive, comfortable, and inspiring.
The supplies I am requesting are essential for a classroom with students on the Austism Spectrum. For instance, headphones are necessary since loud noises may hinder them from time to time in places like the cafeteria and/or an auditorium performance. A bean bag during times of distress is a better choice for calming a student down. Lastly, I like to give my students a break between their academic studies and mats would be ideal for stretching and doing exercises.
