These options of flexible seating will make a huge impact in our classroom. It will promote choice making and give students an opportunity to make decisions about their learning environment. This will not only make learning more fun and enjoyable for my students, students will have an outlet of energy (the wobble chairs and bouncy chairs should help with that) and a comfy place to calm down (with the giant pillows and floor seats).
Having flexible seating options in the classroom can allow my students to integrate sensory needs into learning. So many of my students need to find time in their day to jump, rock back and forth, swing and wiggle in order to meet their sensory demands.
The wobble chairs, stability ball chairs and comfy floor chairs will help them with this. Having different seating options around the room at our different center areas will help them get their needs met while engaging in center activities and learning. Students can also sit in wobble chairs during group activities and get their needs met while they're learning. This flexible seating will allow all students to learn.
