Environment shapes experiences. If you're in a comfortable environment, your experience is bound to be more enjoyable. I always like to sit in the comfiest spot in my home and the same rings true for my students in the classroom. In our classroom, we would love to have more flexible seating options to enhance our classroom environment! Although the majority of my students are from a low-income background, that has never stopped them! They strive each day to work harder, learn more, and help each other when needed. Giving students the opportunity to choose where they are most comfortable in the classroom greatly increases engagement in our activities! Choice seating will also improve student confidence when making appropriate choices.
Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work times they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Students are currently allowed to choose a variety of locations in our room such as: tables of different heights, student desks, or sitting or laying on the floor with a clip board. Ensuring student comfort is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students engagement when they allowed to choose their seating. They are more engaged, and work harder than when they are sitting at their desk.
I would love to add 2 bean bag chairs, 4 balance ball seats, and 9 wobble cushions. The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. Each item can be used in place of a traditional student desk or chair. Thank you so much for your consideration!
