The Magic Tree House series takes students on fantastical journeys in time and teaches them about social studies and science. I have chosen this series as I intend to foster a love of reading in my 3rd graders and these books will take them on exciting adventures, which they will want to keep reading about. These books will be offered to my students for independent reading as they transition into chapter books. Students need such engaging books to help build up their reading stamina as well as increase their vocabulary and reading skills. The books will feature in my classroom library for years to come.
