This kind of flexible seating will be beneficial to all types of learners. Students will be able to move around the classroom and not stay stationary for long periods of time. The classroom rug will serve as a whole group meeting place as well as a station for writing. Wobble chairs work wonderfully for students who struggle with keeping focused on written work. They allow kids to move while staying in their own work area. It is important to give students an opportunity to interact and collaborate with peers. Offering flexible seating allows students choose a more comfortable space to work.
Studies show that students need physical activity and movement in the classroom to maximize learning and attention. Students will be using these throughout the day in their own work spaces as well as when they work in cooperative groups. This will help support a classroom environment that keeps students creative, curious, and comfortable!
