There are students in our school who do not have the finances to purchase a basic calculator to learn math. These classroom calculators will be available to any student coming into the class period and returned at the end of each class period. The reason for the color is to try to create a colorful ambience and atmosphere. My color scheme for my room is hot pink and lime green which is abnormal for a math room (so I've been told by my students). Calculators are a necessary tool to learn the basics of Algebra, Geometry, Number Systems, etc. Having them available to students will help them with their education without feeling left behind or left out.
