Students having the materials needed in order to complete hands-on projects helps them to stay engaged as we cruise through American History!
By various learning approaches to learning, such as reading activities, group projects, individual assignments, students are ensured that they will be able comprehend the material being presented to them! I have found that most students really enjoy the opportunity to express themselves through art, whether it's making a colorful key for our Civil War Map or illustrating their political cartoons during election time. We go through so many colored pencils in order to give these assignments life! Glue is used daily when we are pasting our pages for our prompts for our bell ringer journals or piecing regional maps of the United States together.
I've always enjoyed being able to provide my students with a small library in my classroom and adding historical fiction books to my collection each year is something I always enjoy because it gives them the opportunity to pick up a book they may have not looked at otherwise.
