I have approximately 84, 5th & 6th grade students who are energetic and eager to learn about their environment. They love science because of its hands-on aspect. They attend a rural public school in Arkansas with an enrollment of approximately 540 students, (K-12). Over 15% of my students are resource students. The hands-on activities provide meaningful opportunities for them to learn and discover their potential. Many of my students also come from lower income families and our school's free and reduced lunch percentage is around 70%. I just have a regular classroom and I have to be creative in order to provide quality hands-on learning opportunities for my students. They want to do more than simple demonstrations. They want to discover new things and try to find solutions for their community.
