My students are motivated to read when they are given a choice and a voice in reading material. I need a classroom library with multiple genres and many high interest, current novels to engage my students. When a student says "I don't like to read" my answer is always "You just haven't found your favorite book yet!" My goal with this project is to provide more diverse choices in our classroom library, Books like The Last Kids on Earth and the Nightmare King or Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul so that each student can find his or her favorite series and develop a lifelong love of reading! In order to accomplish this goal, we desperately need additional books like Wonder and Smile for our library!
