I believe that giving students a choice is important. Most importantly, giving them a choice in how and where they sit. The stools will be placed in my guided reading station. This will allow students to practice good posture while sitting and then helping them to be better engaged with small group lessons. The big pillows will be at a team table. This is now giving students the opportunity to sit Indian style comfortable at their own table. Many students struggle with sitting in a traditional chair all day and would rather sit lower to the floor, this will provide them with that option.
