I teach at a large, rural low country school. Most all of my students come from a low socioeconomic background receiving free or reduced priced lunch. My students come to school with many challenges. In our best efforts to meet their needs we are working towards High Progress Literacy classrooms. High Progress Literacy research states that highly engaged readers from homes with less reading materials showed higher success in reading that less engaged readers from homes with more materials.
