My students will be able to use the Kindle FIre to read along with books as the words are high lighted. In addition they will be able to work on improving math and literacy skills by using the free apps to "play games" that reinforce skills that I have taught in class.
The purchase of the 6 Kindle Fires for independent learning will increase the amount of time my students are actively engaged in learning activities while I am teaching other students in small group instruction.
My students find computerized games exciting and fun. The games and activities available for the Kindle Fire will provide the opportunity for more individualized learning. Currently we only have two classroom computers for the students to share. These additional resources will allow us to maximize the learning students achieve when working independently during our Reading and Math Center Time.
