In my science class, I love to conduct experiments and labs to better the education for students. Having this equipment is a great tool to help them discover and explore Science. At my school we have minimum tools or equipment to use for labs. I have to share with my other 6th grade colleague and we have to collaborate when to do labs in making sure we have enough materials for each class.
The materials that I have selected for my project are simple but will be utilize in a way to help each student! The graduated cylinders, beakers, and test tubes will be used for measurement labs. Students will assess their skills in the scientific method of going through the process. Students enjoy this lab with measuring different liquids and also finding the volume of irregular objects. This makes students feel like they are a mad scientist creating a new discovery solution!
The Slinkys for my project are a great tool for my upcoming lab on energy and waves. Students are so amazed at what a slinky looks like and how it moves. In this wave lab, students are showing how to move the slinky and how to energy moves from one side to the other. This gives students a visual of the types of energy waves. Slinkys are not just toys but science tools for learning!
Now this is not all of the labs that we do in the classroom. We have more exciting experiments to explore. But these are essential at this time for my class.
