In an age of vast amounts of technology, children today don't use their imaginations to play or create or read as children did 50 years ago. I want my students to have the opportunity to use their imaginations with hands-on STEM and art activities.
LEGO bricks, paints, crayons, and other art supplies are still great tools to help children create! My students get excited anytime we do hands-on activities in the classroom. It ignites that make-believe world that makes childhood special and magical. I love seeing the excitement on their faces as they share their creations with me.
This generation of children has gained a great deal of knowledge with technology. However, they still have much to acquire from the tools of yesterday.
