Having chair pockets will help students organize and keep their supplies close at hand. In having the chair pockets, the students will have the materials close by and in an organized manner. This will also help reduce transition time, which is very important in the primary grade levels.
Having chair pockets would allow me to scaffold students learning by keeping extra learning level appropriate materials in the chair pockets, where the students would have the materials close by to work on in their free time. The chair pockets would also allow for storage of technology, as iPads could be safely kept and stored in the chair pockets.
