My students love working on the few task boxes and life skills activities that I currently have in the room. They feel successful because with some instruction, they are able to independently complete the activities, which gives them a sense of accomplishment and success.
The pre-vocational and life skills activities they will be working on will help prepare my learners to become more independent members of their community in the future, which is the most important tool I want them to leave high school with. With more materials to create such activities, the students will have a larger variety of tasks to ensure interest and engagement.
The Laminating Pouches, Velcro coins, and coin-u-lators, white boards and markers will be used to for file folders and instruction that will help them with Independent Life Skills. Laminating pouches will also be used for task box activities as well as the shoe box containers.
