Hi I’m Ms. Richardson and I will be teaching 1st grade at a title 1 elementary school which means that my students come from a low income/high poverty area. .
It is my belief that all students no matter their economic background deserve a quality education.
My kids
My kids are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite their many challenges , I would like to provide them with creative and meaningful learning experiences at school which is sometimes the only place that they’re able to express themselves.
Project
Flexible seating will be one step closer to fulfilling their physiological needs based on Maslow’s Theory!
Imagine sitting in a desk for 8 hours. How long could you work in an uncomfortable environment ? Flexible seating will allow my students to be more comfortable and let the students wiggle when they start to get antsy.
Flexible seating is a MUST in an early childhood classroom. Without a way to constructively release energy, children can easily lose their focus and become a classroom disruption. These materials will help ALL of my students become more successful. I've already began purchasing items towards a flexible classroom such as stools and yoga balls but now I need your assistance so that I'm able to reach more students.
