Most of the things I have chosen will be to create a learning environment in which my students can learn in. Flexible seating allows students to sit where it will benefit them most. Other things will be to create a comfortable reading area since increasing students literacy is a high priority.
Most of the students can't afford basic school supplies, so I have included some basic school supplies that I haven't bought yet myself. I have also included tools to help with students who have learning disabilities, to keep them focused on the task we are working on. All of the things I have on my list will go to creating a safe, comfortable community in my classroom for my students to learn.
I plan to use the rug, pillows, and stools to create a flex reading area for students to get comfortable while reading! The school supplies, erasers, crayons, pencils and pencil sharpener will be used on a daily basis, whether for lessons or projects. The ADHD bands are to help my students maintain focus during longer lessons, they all have so much energy and are easily distracted. The bands are to give them a non-distracting outlet for all their energy.
