We are a Title-One school and we have been effected by budget cuts. We have just started the school year so I haven't known this group of children too long. However, I can tell you that they are a great bunch of kids! After sharing my expectations for understanding and respecting diversity, I have seen them step up. They have shown me that they are compassionate by willingly offering others supplies and help with classroom activities.
This class is headed in a great direction. We will be able to trust each other, and feel comfortable making mistakes while we learn. We will not be making fun of others when we are working through things that may be hard for us. During our outside time we do not always have access to the playground. Students have not complained and have been very creative with making up games and activities such as sing-a-longs to include everyone and make the most of the time. I want them to have more options for cooperative activities in their outside playtime.
