I am privileged to teach 17 awesome first grade students at an awesome school in the rural, farming town of Immokalee, FL, where 100% of students receive free breakfast and 98% of the students are from families who speak English as a second language.
Ninety-nine percent of my students are ELL students, or students who speak English as a second language. They are eager to learn and are very hard working students. I have approximately 10 students who really need extra support with their sense of numeracy (i.e. more than, less than, how much fewer/less). They would benefit by having more math manipulatives to use.
