My student struggle with reading books to themselves and for enjoyment. Being able to listen to the books and follow along with a book in their hands will help with sight words, comprehension, and bringing out their imaginations. My students do not see a story right now they just see a lot of words they have to figure out. Once they can finish a book, then a chapter book, and then another their confidence will soar. The more confident they become the more they want to read.
My students need books in their hands that will inspire them and entertain them. Showing them that learning is a gift and reading is one of the best ones of all.
