Alternate seating is critical to enhancing learning across all ages. Bean bag chairs and wobble seats and a comfy carpet allow students choice in where they sit thus giving them control over their environment.
Additionally, encouraging students to move around while working increases their ability to stay alert and focused. Desks can be uncomfortable and these items would alleviate sitting in a desk all day.
The fidgets are for students who need help during quieter activities such as read a louds. Some students will chew their shirts or pull their socks apart. Using their sense of touch can help children focus and process information.
