Cultivate to Educate Our students enjoy hands-on projects that reinforce learning in the classroom. Our classes will be planting and maintaining six raised beds, one outdoor classroom, and several azalea beds located on the school campus. Our students will be cultivating vegetables and annuals in the raised beds on campus. Perennials and Azaleas will be cultivated on the school grounds and around our outdoor classroom. The products I have selected for my project, shovels, rakes, and garden spades, will be used during this cultivation. Team and independent cultivation will be made possible with the provision of these tools. Using the garden tools will give all of my students the opportunity to contribute to the beautification of our school grounds, provide vegetables for enjoyment in the classroom, identification of plants and vegetables, and build self esteem and a valuable work ethic in our students. My students will enjoy working with projects throughout the year. Engaging in hands on projects will reinforce concepts learned in the classroom. Working with these activities, students will be provided with real world problem based learning, connecting with STEM subjects.
