By donating to my project, you will also be helping our efforts to raise awareness to stop hunger, locally and globally. As a school, we partner with the organization Rise Against Hunger every November to pack meals that are then sent out to communities in need. On average, we deliver over 40,000 meals each year. The night before the event, students host an art show where all 600 plus young artisits exhibit their ceramic "Empty Bowls鈥. The show conveys a message of hunger, service, gratitude, stewardship, and ultimately community.
A slab roller would be an amazing addition to our art studio! I will be able to teach my students more advanced hand-building pottery techniques. It will provide an opportunity for my students to grow their skills as a ceramics artist. They will have access to professional grade equipment needed in creating ceramics with more creativity and craftsmanship. We will be able to work more efficently as a clay studio. Also it would be something the entire school will benefit from.
