I am a teacher at a special education preschool in Springfield, Ohio. Half of the students in my class have identified disabilities. Of those disabilities a majority of them are diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). I am helping prepare these students for kindergarten next school year.
We have a wide range of needs and abilities in our classroom and everyday we work and play to encourage socially appropriate behavior and independence. My students have a range of sensory sensitivities and needs.
I have a class of mostly boys who love to explore and play. The girls especially like the doll house and the kitchen/dramatic play center. I love every single one of them and hope that I am helping to make them more independent and successful in life.
