I work at a Title I school where a majority of the students receive free or reduced meals. These students come from varying backgrounds and levels of parental involvement and support. A good percentage come in speaking English as a second language, and our school works hard to supplement lessons with instruction in the English language. Our students come to school ready to engage in all sorts of learning, but we do not have all the resources we need. With such a diverse population, it can be challenging to be able to cater to each student's needs so that they may succeed to the best of their ability within the classroom.
