The materials and supplies I have requested have one destination in mind! This is the chance to teach my students about different cultures and creations around the world. The biggest part is going to be the building materials, such as the craft sticks, paper cups, and wooden blocks, that will be used to reconstruct buildings around the world and even a dam that will be tested (water, sand, and rocks included!)
Art is a vital tool to show the cultural differences and capabilities around the world! The second part of this project is to collect supplies to help my students connect with their artistic side in addition to their critical thinking. This will include the construction of a Chinese Slat Book, Nazca Lines, and Kente Cloth through the sand, paint, craft sticks, and cardboard tubes.
Helping students further understand the wonderful diversity found around us and to see the capabilities of themselves is my number one goal.
