In elementary school a classroom library is very important. Not only does it provide books for instruction. It creates a cozy place in the classroom to relax. It also allows students to learn more about things they like; as well as read about people similar to them or from different walks of life.
My classroom has no classroom library.
The starter kit for 2nd grade would be amazing because it would allow me to begin to build a library full of diverse books. Students are more likely to read a book they choose because it would be something that interested them.
