After teaching for several years in a Head Start Program, I am starting this year as a Reading Specialist. I want to give my students a variety of books and topics to choose from when reading. I feel if a child is not interested in what they are reading or can not relate to it they will be less likely to fall in love with reading. Having a series of decodable readers in my classroom will give me a variety of books to choose from at different levels so I can reach many different children at their level.
