Every year students walk into my chemistry class with an "I don't like science" mindset. They find it difficult to imagine concepts they can't see and fail to see its connection to the real world. BUT my chemistry class aims to find that connection and let students see the "fun" in science. I do this though a lab every week and online simulations.
Our school currently does not have enough computers for my students to use which forces me to do simulations on the board. Without the students getting the "hands-on" aspect of the lesson, they can often loose the excitement and intrigue of the simulator. I plan to use iPads weekly with my kids for online simulations, games, and lab videos.
