In class, students develop comprehension strategies and skills through read alouds. At school, I am the reader. In addition to modeling these strategies and skills, I am exposing students to fluent reading. I would like to build a home-school connection through literature books. In order to do this, I will need bags for each student and some literature books. Students will take home a literature book with an activity guide in a bag. Books will be rotated on a weekly basis. Someone at home can read the book to the child and complete the activities related to the story. Parents and other family members can also be reading models.
