In order to be ready to learn in their classrooms, my students need to know how to recognize their emotions and control their bodies. I'm going into every classroom to teach Zones of Regulation, a curriculum on self-regulation and emotional control.
My students need to be taught how to identify their emotions and calm themselves in order to be ready to learn. This can be difficult for many students. They will use the Card-stock to make posters for their classrooms on the four different Zones. The books will be used in conjunction with the lessons to teach the students how to identify their emotions. The folders, markers, and colored pencils will allow students to create their own Zones of Regulation books to have on hand at school when they need help with their emotions. I'm looking forward to teaching all students, Kindergarten through 6th grade, the same language and tools in order to work together as a school on self-regulation. Our goal is to reach 100% of our students!
