Children in grade three learn practical arts, including basic woodworking and building. We need some basic tools such as quick squares, hammers, awls, saws, screwdrivers, compasses, nail sets, and measuring tapes to make this learning possible! The culminating project will be an arbor for the school garden.
By constructing useful objects with their own hands, students learn that they can contribute to their communities and take care of themselves. They take raw materials and an idea, and create something magical for themselves or others. This type of interdisciplinary learning is so very important in developing children ready to meet the world!
